In July I went to the mountain’s with the family for a vacation. Each morning I got up at 5 am to go fly fishing. I went early before anyone else was awake and I had the stream to myself. Even though a Starbucks was a five minute walk away, on the water there was only nature. The rush of the water was a steady rhythm that reminded me that life goes on despite the noise of politics and other societal worries. Fishing reminded me of my childhood days when I would fish the river with my father before there was any human development. I’m back home, but I long for the water.
