Years ago, I used to make snow sculptures. At the peak, our house would get a line of cars to see what I made. One year my work was featured in the local newspaper. My kids were my muse. They inspired me. I loved to see their reactions to what I made. I would make them forts and slides that they would play with for hours. My most ambitious piece was the Statue of Liberty. Fortunately, I documented it. I have a picture of my daughter walking by to demonstrate its scale. It’s a classic and a conversation. By the way, it only lasted one day. Now, my kids are grown and playing in the snow by myself isn’t so fun, plus, my hands get sore from exposure to the cold. I still make sculptures, but in the warmth of my studio.
