Cookies

Daily writing prompt
What makes a good neighbor?

We had a neighbor across the street, a school teacher of our elementary school, that liked to make cookies. At every holiday she would bring a plate over for our kids. It became a custom we gladly anticipated, especially when there were some varieties that only I liked. Sadly, she passed away from cancer a few years ago. The cookies were only one of the kind things she did for us and the rest of the neighbors on the block. We miss her presence. Last year, we decided to make cookies and share them with our neighbors. It led to nice visits and catching up with each other families. We will carry on the tradition.
