Little Things

When my kids were young, I made snow sculptures and forts for my kids. Sometimes I made large slides. The tops were eight feet high. My wife went crazy because there was no safety design to keep them from falling backwards. So I had to modify my slides. Cars from the neighborhood lined up to see what I made. There came a day when the kids weren’t as interested in snow and the cold was getting to me, so I stopped. So, I built a concrete 4 foot penguin that sits by my front door. It turns heads. Even sales people out and about want to know what the penguin is about. I like to break up the ordinary in tiny and positive ways. Find joy in the present.
