Current

Current thoughts of the day, what’s on my mind.

  • Happy Holidays

As always, the holidays creep up too fast and I scramble to buy presents. While I’m doing that I press ahead with my writing projects, preparing the first book of a new series for publication, while I continue to market my first trilogy. I just did a local art show and sold a few books. Continue reading

  • 50th High School Reunion

I went to my high school’s 50th reunion. It was the first time I’ve been to one of these. I wasn’t going to go, but a couple of friends said they were going and I hadn’t seen them in years, so I signed up. My friends had to cancel at the last minute, but I Continue reading

  • Still Struggling

I’m planning to go to my 50-year high school reunion. The reunion committee asked for notable facts from those days. My biggest claim to fame in high school was a detailed model of the Shakespeare’s Globe Theater which I made with two friends (I contributed 60%) in our sophomore year. The model is still used Continue reading

  • Aging

I’m following the daily prompt, the first thing that comes in my mind: “I’m old.” This has been on my mind because I’m pursuing a life long dream, being an author. As I do, I look back (I know I shouldn’t) and wish I started this 30 years ago or more (I got the writing Continue reading

  • Cranes

Each year Sandhill Cranes migrate in two major flyways, between their wintering grounds along the southern coast and their breeding grounds in Canada and northern America. One flyway goes over my house. Each Spring and Fall I watch for them. It’s my signal of the changing seasons. It impresses that these birds have been migrating Continue reading

  • Old Friends

I had kids soon after I was married. Between work and raising kids I lost focus on other stuff like staying in touch with friends. My parents needed a lot of care too, which compounded my withdraw from parts of my life. Now, the kids are grown. The bounds I had with many friends remained Continue reading
