50th High School Reunion

I went to my high school’s 50th reunion. It was the first time I’ve been to one of these. I wasn’t going to go, but a couple of friends said they were going and I hadn’t seen them in years, so I signed up. My friends had to cancel at the last minute, but I went anyway. I didn’t know anybody. My class was about 1,100 people so I wasn’t completely surprised to confront a bunch of strangers. There were over 200 people there, including some spouses who tagged along. I had dreaded going ever since my friends cancelled, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. A lot of people wanted to go back in time and acted 18 again. Not me. I don’t want to be a confused insincere kid again. 🙂 There was memorabilia which was fun to look at and I struck up some conversations with people. I was glad my wife came with me. She talked more than I did, but I’ve always been the quieter one of our pair. Maybe I will go to the next one, 75th? Maybe not.

  1. I am so glad to hear that it wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be. I’m also an introvert and have never attended any of my high school reunions. Maybe I’ll try going to the next one?
