Seasons Greetings!

I’m coming up for air after finishing the next draft of Book Three of my Escape From Desolation series. After the holidays, my wife and I will read it through, then off to the proofreader.

Now I have time to reflect on the holidays. Generally, the holidays are a mixed bag for me. I struggle to stay positive (euphemism, instead of saying I get depressed during the holidays). The kids are grown up. I don’t need much so I care less about getting presents. Most of the elders in my family have passed away. I worry about how what I eat effects my health. Decorating is a chore. We don’t get snow anymore. I could go on. So, I watch Christmas shows to cheer me up. I listen to Christmas music in the car. And I reach out to friends and family. Usually when Christmas is over, I am mostly feel relieved. The excitement isn’t there like when my kids were young. I do look forward to New Year’s. It’s a fresh start and I have a busy 2025 planned.

So with that said, happy holidays to all and hoping your next year is bright!
