Generation Gap

As I market my books, I think I’m massively progressive by using Facebook to reach out to people. Using anything with a computer and the internet is a big deal for me. I say this because when I was young, there were no computers, no cell phones, no streaming services. If I wanted to see a movie, I went to the theater when it came out, or waited three years for the television version, severally edited to make room for commercials. Now, my daughter watches movies on her phone, almost when they are released.

So, when I told her that I was using Facebook, she told that I would never reach young people that way. Facebook was old news. I had to use Instagram or Tik Tok to reach them. But I don’t know much about these platforms. I asked her if I had to do a dance video while holding my book. She shook her head.

  1. Haha! Dancing while promoting your book would definitely get some attention! Wishing you the best of luck 🙂

    1. I agree! Seems to be the big trend. Might be a little gimmicky but who knows? Seems we’re having fun now that social media has advanced to an everybody/everywhere sort of thing. I bet you’d have to do some sort of juggling too to dance with your book in your hands! Not so easy!

      1. I’m sure you could figure it out if you really wanted. I’m not sure though; I have seen some folks just speak, and then promote their books at the end… link in bio and all that. Best wishes
