It’s funny how the mind works. I think about about how things were a challenge for me, then, like a switch being flipped, they weren’t. I once had a severe phobia of public speaking, to the point I would stutter and ramble or nearly pass out. My heart would race and I would get short of breath. Then, I went to some Toaster Master meetings and completely switched. I was never afraid to speak in public again. Also, I’ve been worried about my weight while I gorged on M&Ms; it became an addiction. When I realized how much added sugar I was adding to my diet and the needle on the scale kept going up, I stopped cold turkey. Now, I can’t even eat a few M&Ms. The idea of them repulses me. It’s weird. These are examples of some kind of mind shift. I don’t understand it, but the results are good.
