When I was a kid, my Dad had problems. He hated his job and dropped out of society, moping around not knowing what he wanted to do with his life. I tried to fix him, giving him life advice before I did any living of my own. When I was in a college, I had a friend who wasn’t getting along with the guys in the fraternity. I tried to fixed him, by teaching him social skills when I too shy myself. Later in life, I was a corporate lawyer (I guess I got over my shyness), a job where I fixed everybody else’s problems. It was perfect. When I became a parent, I struggled to be patient. I had anger issues. It was time to fix myself, which I did. That let to my writing career, which has brought me more peace than I imagined possible–even if I am not widely known. In my spare time, I still fix things, things around the house. Time to fix the Christmas lights because they keep shorting out because it’s raining too much. Where is the snow? Perhaps it’s time for me to fix global warming?
