When I saw the daily prompt, I thought of the song, “The Look of Love,” popularized by Dusty Springfield in 1967. I can’t explain how my mind works. I haven’t thought about that song in years. I started with thinking about the greatest gift. I can’t think of anything greater than love, a genuine concern for another, an acceptance and respect that transcends conditions, unfettered and giving love, expecting nothing in return. I suppose that love can condense into a look, which would be a powerful expression. I can hear the song in my mind, but I don’t remember the lyrics, so I don’t know if it’s talking about romantic love and broad unconditional love. It was 1967, I suspect lust was involved. I guess I have some research to do.
