No Spin

What inspires my admiration of others is honesty, especially from leaders. Honesty is often hard, because not everyone agrees. There is particular risk to being honest in public. It takes courage to say what one believes, knowing the backlash could be strong. I count on leaders to focus on the public good and have the fortitude to take the hits for what they really think. Too often I see leaders spin their comments, afraid to upset anyone, especially voters. I admire the ones who have the guts to speak their minds, honestly. They may not get my vote, but they may get my admiration.

  2. I agree. Bringing it back to a personal level, honest friends are so valuable. Friends who just agree with you and blow smoke up your a*se are great for the ego, but a friend who tells you that you are being stupid or silly, when you are, are priceless 🙂
