I live in the suburbs of a major city. Wild animals are not first on my mind. In my backyard, I’ve seen Racoons, Skunks, Possums, Squirrels, Rabbits, Chipmunks, Mice, Frogs, Toads, Birds and Feral Cats. Sightings of these creatures are so common, it seems too normal to call them wild animals, but they’re not tame so I guess they’re wild. When it comes to wild, Coyotes fits the bill. I’ve spotted them strolling the backyards, or even down my front street. A few weeks ago, a pair of Coyotes was stalking us while we walked our dog. I yelled to scared them away. One of them wasn’t daunted and stood its ground. That was terrifying because I had no control over the creature. Fortunately, a car scared it away. I’ve been in remote wild areas and never seen anything. So much for the suburbs not being wild.
