Less Fat

My traditional turkey dinner that I grew up on, had plenty of fatty sausages and sausage dressing. Every Thanksgiving we had the exact same menu. There was comfort in predictability and consistency. When my sisters and I were adults, my sister introduced corn pudding. It caused quite a stir with the elders who abhorred change. I added an orange cranberry relish. We were rebels. Now, my wife and I are elders. We don’t serve the sausage anymore. I get indigestion from too much fat. My arteries can’t take it. My daughter is vegan so we don’t even have turkey anymore. It’s a revolution at Thanksgiving.
