Mountains Are Peace

I been to many beaches and mountains, but mountains rule. I’ve seen beaches in Florida, Lake Michigan and Lake Superior (too cold), Hawaii, the Cayman Islands, and the Pacific Northwest. There is something to be said for the peaceful rhythm of the waves gently landing on shore. It happens no matter what strife is happening in the world. It’s nice to go to the beach and forget my troubles. But mountains hold a special place in my heart. When I was a kid we spent a part of each summer in the Colorado Rockies. Those were times when my family was the happiest. Those mountains take me back to good memories: fishing, picnics and board games. I now live a thousand miles from those mountains, but I think about them often.
