I live in a large city with lots of Museums. I love to go and read all the placards. I love to learn. My family likes to go and scan quickly, so when I dawdle because I’m reading they hurry me along. I often think of going alone so I can peruse the museums at my leisure. When I was a kid, the teacher always hurried us along, but back then I was distracted by the next vending machine that made plastic animals on demand. I was fascinated watching the machine press molds together, inject plastic, and instantly produce a dinosaur or elephant. It was my favorite part of going to the museums. With my kids, I don’t know who enjoyed watching the plastic injection machines more, them or me. My son is grown up, but I keep as my own souvenir one of his plastic dinosaurs that we got at the museums. If I go to a museum by myself, I might have to buy a plastic animal to add to my collection.
