Tolerance

Daily writing prompt
What principles define how you live?

Many principles guide me. I strive to be as honest as possible. But I also believe in diplomacy and careful non-disclosure. Honesty is not a shield from kindness. I try not to judge others, because I seldom know all the facts; and I am not without some blemishes. Most of all, I believe in tolerance. I don’t need people to be like me to feel good about myself. It saddens me to hear harsh comments: criticism in the public, in politics, or social media. Differences are not threats, but enrichment.
