I’m dating myself, but these are the athletes that made an impression on me when they were active. Jean Claude Killy was the most exciting downhill racer I had ever seen. Rod Laver was a great doubles tennis player and exciting net player. As a kid, his giant tennis forearm was impressive. Mohammad Ali was a great showman, but his work with Michael J. Fox on Parkinson’s show his great character best. As a Chicago native, I have to do a shout out to the greatest Bear of them all: Walter Payton. The truth is that there are many more great athletes. We are lucky.
