My father left me a legacy, that of a cave dweller. When he was forty, he dropped out of society and brooded. I was a kid. I was sucked into his dark world. I’ve worked hard to overcome his legacy. I don’t want to be a cave dweller. Covid opened the way to return to the cave, which I did. Recently, I have made contact with old friends, ones I haven’t spoken to for decades. It feels good. Although the cave is quiet and cozy, there is little light. It’s the light of day that keeps me going.
