I like movies that have ideas. I am swooned by film with heart and vision. This is my top ten list, not listed in order (It was hard enough to come up with ten): The Four Seasons (1981), for its heart and humor; The Blind Side (2009) for its heart; Forbidden Planet (1956), for its imagination and vision; Oliver! (1968), for its heart; Annihilation (2018), for its heart and crazy vision; Alien (1979), for its uniqueness and style; Arrival (2016), for its serious heart and big ideas; It’s A Wonderful Life (1946), for its timeless heart; Interstellar (2014), for its heart, vision and big ideas; and Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines (1965), for its good fun and humor. Thinking of movies causes me to miss my mother, who loved them as much as me. I miss our movie talk.
