What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

I put a lot of stock in people sharing their personal stories. I gain when I hear people tell their stories or share perspectives. I’ve been told that my sharing has a similar effect. I am a fan of the movie Being There with Peter Sellers, where his character’s biggest contribution was being present to people when they needed it. I once was at a conference. I was sitting outside one of the events, when a man came out. He was distraught and I asked him if he was okay. He told me a tale and afterwards he said he felt better, partly because I listened, simply listened. I never saw him again, but the moment stays with me, a symbol of the power of being present to people. So when I write my blog, I aim to tell a simple story that is relatable and forms a space where we are present to each other.
