The first dinosaur that captured my imagination was the Brontosaurus. Sure the illustrations are sort of dull, gray, slow, and smooth featureless skin, but it was majestic and graceful. When I was a kid I made a diorama of a prehistoric scene, featuring a Brontosaurus trapped in a tar pit with a menacing Saber Tooth Tiger circling around. Sure the time periods don’t work out, but the Bronto was my go-to dinosaur. Then there’s Dino from the Flintstones, the lovable pet. The purple was an improvement.
