Instant Media

Daily writing prompt
What would you change about modern society?

This is the age where so much is available instantly, streaming content, cable news, messaging services, etc. When I was a kid if I didn’t see a movie in the theater, I would have to wait 2 to 3 years to see it on television. The wait heightened the anticipation, made the event something special. Of course, back then it meant something to see it in the theater too. Now, if I miss a movie in the theater I can watch it any time on a streaming service. I also remember when tape rental was a big deal too. We had one place to get movies, a remodeled train station. We picked from a paper list. It was big deal to bring home a movie that was not accessible anywhere else. Now, tape rental places are almost gone. Too much is too fast. We need to reestablish waiting in our culture.
