Risk is most fun when there are maximum players of six. The goal is simple, take over the world. There a few winning strategies, but the outcomes are always unpredictable, based somewhat on chance. It’s fun when players make alliances to survive or concentrate their forces. The politics are the most interesting. I have fond memories of game night with my childhood friends, playing Risk, arguing, conniving, and eating pizza. I have a lot of experience with the game, but I am often beat by unconventional players that do illogical things. That’s why they call it Risk; players taking the big risks, sometimes get the spoils. I have more fun watching the game evolve, than winning.
