More than any activity, when I paint pictures, I have no sense of time. Hours have passed and it seems like minutes. I love that creative zone, but unfortunately I have not painted in a long time. Partly, my writing has been demanding my time, which is okay. I don’t lose time when I write. I think it has something to do with the sequential nature of writing and the act of typing. I have to think too much to type. When I write a new story by hand, sometimes I am able to put my mind in a story while my hand becomes a recording device, almost an independent entity. Then I lose time. But I hate going back and typing into the computer what I handwrite. I have hired someone to do the entry for me, but it was difficult watching them going insane attempting to decipher my handwriting. So to get in the creative zone, I will have to go back to painting.
