Many historical figures inspire me and I can’t pick one. Lincoln, Eisenhower and Washington were great leaders. I always admired Jean Kirkpatrick, an immensely intelligent person. We need her smarts now. Zbigniew Brzezinski was also a hugely brilliant thinker that we could use today. If I had to pick one, I would pick C.S. Lewis. His writings profoundly influenced my thinking. He made difficult topics easier to understand. He made writing look easy, but when I try to write about the topics he covered, I find out how brilliant he was. Sorry, Mr. Tolkien, Lewis reached me more.
