My father taught me to fly fish. It was the primary time we got along like father and son. My son and I have many things together, and fishing is one among them. He is more of a spin caster. We fish together for the comradery and the peace the rises while we tend to our equipment. There is something powerful in being in the outdoors, by water, putting out lines to pursue an unseen quarry. My favorite fishing is in the mountains, listening to the white noise of rushing creeks and enjoying the stillness of the woods, away from the hustle and angst of modern life. I find myself each time I fish. Time to find a creek.
