Not Money

Daily writing prompt
What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?

It’s a paradox, that money doesn’t buy happiness, but life is much harder without any financial resources. I once heard a yoga teacher ask, would we choose a million dollars if getting it meant only one more day of life? His point was that health is everything. I am blessed. I have a supportive and loving wife and two kids. I have good relationships with my extended family. I’m financially comfortable, not rich, but secure (except for the zombie apocalypse). Notably, I know my passions and focus my work on the areas I love. It has given me deep peace of mind, assurance that I am leaving a productive legacy for my children. Material things mean much less to me, but I do like going to a good restaurant or picking up a good book. With a healthy family and a pen in hand, I would say I have it all.

  1. That is a lovely perspective and one I take on life as well. I have good health,
