When do you feel most productive?

After my morning coffee, until about 3 pm, I get the most done. Artistically, I can be productive anytime. I go in phases. When I’m working a big project, like a book, that takes most of my energy. But when I’m idle, I get bursts of inspiration. Sometimes I wake in the night and so many ideas are flashing through my mind that I have to get up and write them down. If I make notes, I will remember the idea. Sometimes, I’m too tired to get up and I tell myself I will remember in the morning. Nope. I vaguely remember I had an idea, but I can’t articulate it. It’s lost, at least until the next early morning illumination.
