I’m thinking about my art in terms of water pressure because we had a water leak in our front yard. Water was bubbling out of the ground and running down the street for a block. We loss a little bit of pressure, but if the leak was worse we might have lost all our pressure. Thankfully, it has been fixed, by the city. It made me think of my art. I write, paint, sculpt and few other things. Currently, book projects are taking all my time. While I dive deep into the writing, I can’t find the energy or the time to paint or sculpt. I have a half done painting sitting on my easel for a year and a friend wants me to make a figurine. I told her it might be months plus before I get to it. It’s not just about time management. The energy needed to get my writing projects moving forward leaves little room for anything else. My wife is happy I leave enough energy for doing our taxes and taking the garbage out.
