My daughter has taken after me and is a creative person. She spontaneously decides she has to make something, has to honor a creative urge. When it comes to gifts, she takes the same approach. I like to make past sauce from Tomatoes I grow in my garden. For Christmas one year, my daughter hand painted a jar that said “Rob’s Homemade Pasta Sauce.” I remember the night she made it. I had to wait in another room so I wouldn’t spoil the surprise. The whole thing made me feel special. She used fancy lettering and accented it in gold paint. It’s one of my prized gifts.
