Mr. Childs

Daily writing prompt
Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

My English teacher in sophomore year high school was the coolest guy. It was the early ’70s. He wore a camel hair jacket, no tie, military style leather boots that were popular among the hip types and had hair down to his shoulder. He appeared unconventional and taught me to think out of the box. Acceptable English projects included a anti-war slide show and an abstract painting depicting the theme in Lord of the Flies. Three of us built a model of Shakespeare’s Globe Theater for him. I was only one of many who thought he was the best.
